Memory 1 from Book Sayyed Hossein: Study Circle and Quranic Mastery Against Eclectic Currents
In 1976, several members of the MEK organization defected toward communism, confusing many people with their strange, materialistic interpretations of Islamic concepts.
In Ahvaz, Hossein and his comrades established an active study circle. During these days, Hossein achieved an even deeper mastery of the Quran and Nahj al-Balagha, as he grounded all his rebuttals in these two primary sources.
Following the uprising of January 1978 when a state newspaper insulted Imam Khomeini, Hossein and his friends realized that genuine monotheism is inseparable from active struggle, leading direct revolutionary actions against the tyrannical Pahlavi regime.
