Until those days, I had not met Sayyid Hossein Alamolhoda. But later I heard that Sayyid Hossein had participated in reconnaissance operations around Susangerd and the surrounding area and had good familiarity with the region. Hossein came to Hoveyzeh with an eight-member team, mostly comrades from the Jazayeri Mosque in Ahvaz. People such as Ghaffar Darvishi, Alireza Joula, Saeed Jalali, and Mar'ashi (who was martyred later) accompanied Alamolhoda.

It was evening when we were informed that the new commander of the Hoveyzeh IRGC had arrived and wanted to meet us; I think it was early Azar 1359 [late November 1980]. The meeting took place at the private residence of Haj Abdol-Amir Hoveyzavi. His family had evacuated and the house was empty. We performed Maghrib and Isha prayers in that house; it was the first time I met Sayyid Hossein there. What remarkably drew me to Hossein at first sight was his luminous countenance and humble demeanor.

Hossein had placed two pieces of cotton in his ears; it turned out that two or three nights earlier, he had participated in an operation in the Dobb-e Hardan area (near Ahvaz) and had fired so many RPG rockets that his ears were bleeding and aching. Hossein had also brought our dinner with him: some bread and boiled eggs in a cardboard box that he carried from Ahvaz. After congregational prayers led by Sayyid Hossein, the meeting officially began. At the start of his speech, the new commander of the Hoveyzeh IRGC commemorated Shahid Asghar Gandomkar and praised the role of the Hoveyzeh IRGC fighters in several days of resistance in Susangerd. Then, turning to us, he said: 'I expect you, dear brothers, from now on, just as you collaborated with our martyred brother Asghar Gandomkar, to cooperate with me as well, so that, God willing, we may advance the war effort in the best possible manner pleasing to God...'
